Earth Day Network Partners Pew Environment Group and the Chagos Environment Network have launched a petition aimed at the British Government to make the Chagos Archipelago a protected Marine reserve. “Protecting the Chagos archipelago is a rare opportunity for the UK to create a conservation area as important as the Galapagos islands or Great Barrier Reef” according to British Environmentalist (and current Green Party Candidate for Parliament) Tony Juniper.
