EARTH DAY 2009 IN COLUMBUS, OHIO

Picture This: thousands of central Ohioans working together planting trees, cleaning the banks of our scenic rivers, removing non-native species from parks, establishing vegetable gardens in communities, and otherwise beautifying the city we call home. Earth Day 2009 is just around the corner and it is going to be bigger, better and greener than ever.

Please join our partners at Green Columbus on Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th for Earth Day 2009: Picture This. Saturday will be dedicated to working on volunteer projects and Sunday for the celebration in Goodale Park. Volunteers will participate at worksites run by your favorite area environmental groups, including FLOW, Metro Parks, FACT, Columbus Recreation and Parks, Sierra Club and many others.  To find out more and sign up as a volunteer, visit www.picturethis09.org.

The festival at Goodale Park will run from noon until 7pm and feature booths with environmental organizations, live music, local foods, speakers, including Mayor Michael B. Coleman, kids’ activities and much more.
