Environmental Jeopardy
Earth Day Network is excited to provide our Educators Network with Environmental Jeopardy, a fun, easy-to-use, one day lesson plan designed to enhance the Earth Day, Every Day classroom experience. Environmental Jeopardy is a positive learning experience that challenges students to think about the relationship between their everyday lives and the environment. The exercise promotes environmental stewardship by introducing ideas such as thoughtful consumerism, sustainability, community participation, and health and well-being.
Five editions of Environmental Jeopardy are now available, each with two sets of questions, one for primary school and one for secondary school. Environmental Jeopardy began with the first edition "Sustainability" in December 2004, which was distributed with a Jeopardy poster board and Teacher’s Guide. The second edition “What’s in Your Food, What’s in Your Body” was created for Earth Day 2005 to examine health issues related to eating habits and environmental influences. The third edition “Your Local Environment” was released for the 2005-2006 school year and the fourth edition “A Changing Climate," which focuses on global warming, was released for Earth Day 2006. That brings us to our latest and fifth edition "Organic Food, Organic Lifestyle” which was created for Earth Day 2007 in association with our Go Organic! Campaign for Earth Day. Enjoy!

- The official downloadable Environmental Jeopardy game board for classroom use
The official game board was designed for use with all editions of Environmental Jeopardy. If you have not received the game board you can download a version from this page. You will probably need to copy the file and bring it to a print shop like Kinko’s to print on 24” by 36” laminated posterboard. You can then either tape the category and question cards to the board or cut slots in the corner to insert the cards. Or you can create your own board on a white board or chalk board in your classroom. Either way, your students will enjoy learning about important environmental issues and the value of civic engagement and personal choice through Environmental Jeopardy.
As with all of our educational resources, we sincerely hope you and your students find Environmental Jeopardy enlightening and entertaining. EDN welcomes any comments, suggestions, or questions at education@earthday.net.
