On April 25th, Earth Day Network and Green Apple Festival sponsors and partners, provided Percy Julian High School in Chicago with a “Green Makeover” that educated students and made the school more environmentally friendly. This event was held in conjunction with Earth Day and the Green Apple Music Festival on April 22nd.
Leading up to and culminating on Friday, April 25th, Percy Julian’s “Green Makeover” consisted of a(n):
The event was the first of its kind at Percy Julian High School and students and teachers were moved by the event. Some were hearing about organic food, indoor air quality, and environmental justice for the very first time. Students were able to touch and learn about green roofs and solar panels and many visited the biodiesel fueled bus presented by Bloom High Schools’ Environmental club! The event even sparked recycling and green cleaning policies at the school. Finally, through the participation of
